چکیده
This research aims to identify and describe the thinking process of students in solving mathematical problems, both who have a field-independent type cognitive style (GK-FI) field-dependent (GK-FD). The subjects this study were eight people, consisting four GK-FI GK-FD students. Data was collected using Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT). selecting carried out stages (a) determining class be subject study, (b) giving GEFT test, (c) analyzing results (d) subjects, each 4 follows stages: reviewing theory conducting an initial survey, preparing instruments, collecting data written interview data, validating triangulation techniques, (e) on problems get overview procedures used by (f) revealing students' processes based styles. are as follows: (1) In forming understanding, receives parses its parts, then makes problem-solving plan, while does not parse parts. (2) opinions, performs with analytical trial error matching. (3) drawing conclusions, conducts examination or checks first, do.

The Thinking Styles of University Mathematics Students
In this paper, we focus on the relationship between studying university mathematics and the ‘thinking styles’ of both undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics students. A crosssectional quantitative study (N = 238) was conducted in a large Greek university, identifying the thinking styles of second, third and fourth year undergraduates, as well as those of students following a postgraduate de...

in the past couple of decades sociocultural theory of sla and its implications in efl contexts have attracted attentions of research circles worldwide and aroused some controversies. firth and wagner (1997) have questioned the principles of the cognitive view which gives importance to mental constructs in favor of sociocultural view which highlights social and contextual constructs. but if soci...

The influence of Need for Cognition, cognitive abilities and expertise on complex problem-solving was examined. A ‘Need for Cognition’ questionnaire, a cognitive abilities test and five complex problems were presented to a group of experts (Experiment 1) and to a group of novices (Experiment 2). Generally, experts performed better on the complex problems than did novices. Experts low in cogniti...
متن کاملThe Impact of Cognitive and Non-Cognitive Text-Based Factors on Solving Mathematics Story Problems
Intelligent tutoring systems (ITSs) that personalize instruction to individual learner background and preferences have emerged in K-16 classroom settings all over the world. In mathematics instruction, ITSs may be especially important for tracking mathematical skill development over time. However, recent research has pointed to the importance of text-based measures when solving mathematics word...
متن کاملAn Improvement in WRP Block Replacement Policy with Reviewing and Solving its Problems
One of the most important items for better file system performance is efficient buffering of disk blocks in main memory. Efficient buffering helps to reduce the widespeed gap between main memory and hard disks. In this buffering system, the block replacement policy is one of the most important design decisions that determines which disk block should be replaced when the buffer is full. To o...
